Becoming COR certified is just 1 step above and beyond.”
Stephanie Swain is AgSafeBC’s Certificate of Recognition program administrator.
Stephanie grew up in the Fraser Valley, but any chance they had her family travelled to the Nicola Valley to spend time at their cabin on Stump Lake. There she learned to fish, rode horses, zipped around on the ATV and hiked the hills exploring the old mine shafts.
She has background in Marketing and Hospitality Management from Douglas College, which lead her to Conference Service Management for 8 years at a local Hotel. During that time, she coordinated numerous Health & Safety Conferences and events which made her familiar with the various associations.
After starting a family in 2010, she decided to take time off to enjoy the younger years before re-joining the work force in 2015 as the COR Program Administrator for AgSafeBC.
While maintaining and helping to develop the COR Program, she has really enjoyed the interaction with all the different sectors of the agricultural industry and learns something new each day related to Health & Safety.
The COR Program puts a real focus on the Health & Safety Plan of a company. With a well-established plan, it shows that the company really cares about its employees and make them a priority. Becoming COR certified is just 1 step above and beyond.
Stephanie is really looking forward to the direction that the COR Program is taking, and is hoping that with the new information provided to AgSafe’s membership, there is will be more companies working towards being COR Certified.
