"Meet people where they're at and understand that everyone is trying to make a difference in their own way."
KEVIN PATERSON

Kevin was born and raised in and around Kimberley where his parents owned a small hobby farm. He worked on several local cattle ranches before heading off to Lethbridge Community College where he obtained a diploma in Agriculture Science. Following this, Kevin attended the University of Saskatchewan and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science. After several years working in southern Alberta as the manager of major poultry and feedlot operations, Kevin and his family made the decision to move back to Kimberley where he began his lengthy career with local govenment, first by developing their noxious weed program before transitioning to become General Manager of Environmental ande Engineering Services. During this time Kevin also worked for FARSHA, now AgSafe, until the demands of his government job forced him to give up his territory.

After 20 years of service with the Regional District of East Kootenay, Kevin has recently retired. He is very excited and grateful to be returning to his AgSafe community as the Field Representative for the Kootenay region. He is looking forward to renewing his ties to the farming community and assisting producers with their safety programs. Kevin's love of agriculture and his deep commitment to safe farming practices, coupled with his genuine interest in people, allow him to serve as a partner in safety for producers and their employees.

"It's important to meet people where they are at, regardless of what facet of production they are involved in or of their level of safety awareness; everyone is trying to make a difference."
