Heads Up: Minimum Wage is Increasing in 2025

Starting June 1, 2025, the minimum wage in BC will increase to $17.85 per hour. Piece rates for farm workers, which last increased on December 31, 2024, will increase on December 31, 2025 by 2.6% to match the hourly minimum wage increase.

These updates are part of a 2024 change to BC Employment Standards, which now mandates an annual wage increase tied to inflation. This means that:

  • Hourly minimum wage will increase every year on June 1st
  • Piece rate for farm workers will increase each year on December 31st helping farmers avoid mid-season wage adjustments
AgSafe will continue to monitor changes to BC Employment Standards and share updates as soon as they become available.
