MEDIA RELEASE
Langley, BC – AgSafe Agriculture Association announces that, effective January 1, 2027, it will no longer operate as a Certificate of Recognition (COR) Certifying Partner (CP) within British Columbia's COR program. AgSafe will continue its important role as the province's dedicated Health and Safety Association (HSA) serving the agricultural and naturally aligned sectors, while COR certification services only will transition to other approved Certifying Partners.
The transition is being coordinated in collaboration with WorkSafeBC to ensure continuity of service and ongoing support for employers currently participating in the COR program.
Commitment to a Seamless Transition
Current COR certifications administered through AgSafe will remain valid, and AgSafe will continue to provide COR certification services through December 31, 2026. During this period, AgSafe will maintain responsibility for supporting employers, administering audits, and fulfilling all Certifying Partner obligations under its existing agreement.
"Our priority is to ensure employers experience a smooth and seamless transition while maintaining access to the benefits and incentives associated with COR certification," said AgSafe. "We remain committed to supporting agricultural employers and industry stakeholders throughout this process."
The transition has been designed to ensure:
- Continued eligibility for COR incentives, subject to standard WorkSafeBC program requirements under Policy AP-5-247-4.
- Ongoing recognition of existing COR certifications.
- A clear pathway for employers to transfer their certification to another approved Certifying Partner.
- Continued support throughout the transition period.
Certifying Partner Options
AgSafe and WorkSafeBC have reviewed industry classifications and Certifying Partner capacities to identify suitable options for participating employers. Organizations may select any approved Certifying Partner capable of supporting their industry classification, audit requirements, and certification needs.
