This classification unit covers firms that build structures to accommodate bee hives, manage bee colonies, and extract honey from hives.

Apiary farmers may grow plants and flowers to support the production of honey or population of trees. Firms may package goods for distribution to market and/or processors.

This classification unit also covers firms that breed and raise insects. Here are some examples of goods that firms in this classification unit produce:

  • Bee pollen, Honeycomb, Royal jelly, Beeswax, Propolis, Unprocessed natural honey
