Growing up in a small town in southern Alberta, I was surrounded by a farming community. Everyone knew each other and were always willing to provide support when needed. I believe that is where my passion for helping people began.
My safety experience started when I was offered a job working for an oil and gas company in the Peace River region. I was hired as a ‘green hand” with very little safety experience. It was only when our COR certificate was about to expire that I had to step up and take on the unknown. It was one of the most rewarding work experiences I have had. From there, my excitement for assisting people in their COR journey grew and I knew that working in safety was where I belonged.
15 years later and experience in a variety of industries such as: oil and gas, manufacturing and transportation, agriculture is where I feel at home. My latest practice with ornamental nursey has allowed me to work with a diverse group of people, allowing me to embrace my interpersonal skills and to really dive into my enthusiasm for educating others.
I now reside in Mission, BC with my lovely family. We have a small hobby farm north of town, where I can see my children helping in their community just as I did when I was growing up.
