Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program Introduction

The Certificate of Recognition Program is an incentive program that recognizes and rewards employers for implementing effective Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs that demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety. Participation in the program is voluntary.

Benefits of Participating in the COR Program
A functioning Health and Safety Management Program helps ensure workers and workplaces are safe from injury, illness and disease. This is accomplished through hazard identification, assessment and control. Over time, with reduced injuries and lower claims costs, an employers ERA rate results can increase and lower WSBC annual assessment payments.

Eligible employers who earned a Certificate in Recognition (COR) and maintain COR, may be eligible to receive:

  • 75% of their premium up to a $1000 as an annual incentive payment from WorkSafeBC.
  • Or 10% of their premium if their incentive is over $1000 as an annual incentive payment from WorkSafeBC by having an effective functioning OHSMS in the workplace.

GAP Analysis Scope

The GAP Analysis is a snapshot in time, using representative sampling of documentation to identify elements of the program where opportunity exists to reduce or eliminate injuries. The GAP Analysis is only representative of a document review and does not include interviews or a survey.
