Pawan is an important part of the management team at Uppal Farms, a family owned greenhouse in Abbotsford, BC.

Hard work and long hours became the norm for Pawan and his younger brother Gurminder, as they grew up working along their parents. Now Pawan is helping manage the day to day operations. He has worked with AgSafe in developing a health & safety program for the farm.

Pawan’s attention to detail, patience and commitment have helped Uppal Farms become recently COR (Certificate of Recognition) Certified.

He has helped the safety culture of the workplace by empowering employees and getting them to participate in safety initiatives such as inspections.

Integrating safety into the company’s daily practice, helps Pawan and everyone else at Uppal Farms to stay on top of the requirements for various annual greenhouse audits.

Setting and meeting short-term goals when developing the safety program has proven to be a successful strategy for Pawan. He hopes to continue adding to the safety program as his company intends to expand their operations.
