Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

This poster compares the chemical hazard symbols found on consumer labels, WHMIS1998 labels, and current WHMIS labels (current system has updated the term symbols to pictograms.). This poster is a reference document for what symbols may be found on a worksite within the WHMIS classification.

All chemical products on a site must be used in accordance with the safety protocols found on the associated Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the product.
